M&A's Construction team provides a specialist service to the public and private sectors at all stages of construction and engineering projects and is able to advise clients on a full range of construction and related issues.
The team is led by Jeremy Williams who is recognised as a leading practitioner in the Legal 500 and Chambers lawyer directories.
In an often complex world we aim to provide practical advice and documentation to simplify the contractual and legal process.
We regularly provide advice to clients on procurement strategy (whether traditional route, design and build, a Public Private Partnership or Private Finance Initiative). We also provide advice in relation to partnering and collaborative arrangements including framework agreements.
We are experienced in advising and drafting bespoke amendments to all the standard forms of contract (including JCT, ICE, GC/Works, NEC/ECC, PPC2000 and Be Collaborative) as well as all standard forms of professional appointment and warranties.
We are recognised for being able to react quickly and provide the support and guidance necessary to effectively and efficiently support clients in managing and resolving disputes including mediation, expert determination, adjudication, arbitration and litigation.
Members of the construction team are regularly asked to write on topical issues for trade publications and speak at conferences.
We have set out below some examples of the recent projects and ongoing construction matters that we have been involved with:
 | We advised West Sussex County Council on the construction elements of their waste recycling solution and the Materials Recovery and Management Contract (MRMC).
Including the negotiation and drafting of the Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) Contract, Operation and Maintenance (O&M) Agreement and a number of Appointments and Warranties. |
 | We advised Atlantic Property Developments PLC on a major commercial and community development in Merthyr Tydfil, South Wales.
The development consists of community leisure facilities, as well as a ten pin bowling alley, cinema and a number of restaurants. |
 | One of our team has previously advised the National Assembly for Wales on the construction of the new Senedd Debating Chamber in Cardiff Bay. |
