Professional Background
Elena was educated at the University of Manchester, the L’Universite de Bourgogne, Dijon and Cardiff University’s Law School. She trained at Baker and McKenzie in London and Joined M&A in 2007.
Area of Practice
Elena’s area of practice is corporate focusing upon investments, acquisitions and disposals, leveraged buy-outs, joint ventures and reorganisations. She has particular experience in private equity dealings on a multi-jurisdictional basis.
Elena worked alongside a partner leading Daiwa SMBC Principal Investments, a private equity arm of a Japanese bank in their JPY19billion purchase of HMV’s Japanese business. She spent the final week of the transaction in Tokyo negotiating the deal and coordinated both the London and Tokyo teams.
Elena has significant experience in the telecommunications industry on an international scale, she has acted on behalf of Bivideon BV on the disposal of its Czech telecoms service provider Radiokomunikace.a.s. and a 39% interest in T-Mobile Czech Republic and Novator One LP as the majority investor in Project 4, the start up mobile telecommunications operator in Poland in connection with the acquisition by Tollerton Investments Limited of 22% of the boosted equity in Project 4.
