Professional Background
Stephen was educated at Bristol University and the College of Law in Guilford. He trained at Herbert Smith, London. He then joined Eversheds, Cardiff as an assistant solicitor and was appointed as a partner in 1998. Stephen joined M&A as a founding partner in 1999.
Area of Practice
Stephen's area of practice is corporate and commercial focussing on transactions, projects and commercial contracts. Stephen is recognised as a leading corporate and commercial specialist by Chambers and Legal 500.
He has advised regional airport operator Omniport on its acquisitions of Glasgow Prestwick, Norwich International and Maastricht airports. Each deal involved complex funding arrangements and long term contracts with local government.
Stephen was lead adviser to the promoters of the “Bluestone” project in Pembrokeshire - a £100 million + new holiday village project. He has advised on a number of large scale private equity funded buy-outs including in relation to National Britannia Limited, Celtic Inns Limited and the James Hull Group and advises Capita Group PLC on company and business acquisitions as well as commercial projects with the public sector (including joint ventures and major outsourcing deals).
