Wind |
 | We have advised Pennant Walters (a consortium including Pennant Wind Limited and Walters Mining Group) on a joint venture with HSBC Infrastructure Fund Management Limited, in relation to the development of three wind farm projects. |
 | We have provided strategic advice to the Welsh Assembly Government on its policy relating to the development of wind farms in Wales. |
 | We have advised SWALEC in relation to a number of wind farm projects. |
Bio-Mass |
 | We advised Western Log Limited on its joint venture with Eco2 Limited, to build Wales’ first biomass power station. The £33million project will generate 13.8 megawatts of electricity, burning clean wood in a state of the art combustion system to be constructed in Margam, Port Talbot. We acted for the joint venture company on the project, which also involved agreeing institutional debt and equity funding. |
Tidal |
| We are retained by the Severn Tidal Power Group to advise on legal issues affecting the proposed development of the Severn Barrage. |
Oil |
 | We have advised Total UK on major engineering works at its refinery in Milford Haven South West Wales valued at £30m+. |
Power Generation |
| We advised AES on a Construction and Maintenance works contract relating to the Fifoots Point Power Station, Newport. |
 | We advised Energy Power Resources Ltd on renewable projects including a 38MW straw fired power station at Ely in Cambridgeshire. |
| We advised Black Bag Energy Limited on a project involving the construction of an autoclave and power generation plant at Tythegston in South Wales. The scope of our advice included advice in relation to commercial and property arrangements for the scheme, which will involve a major equity contribution from an institutional investor. |
 | We advised Neath Port Talbot (Recycling) Limited on its power purchase agreement with E.ON UK Plc and commercial agreements for the supply of refuse derived fuel for use as an alternative fuel in cement kilns. |
Water Infrastructure |
 | We advised Dwr Cymru / Welsh Water in relation to the impact of the new Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2007 on the AMP 4 DCWW Strategic Alliancing/Supply Chain Agreements. |
 | We advised the Environment Agency Wales on the property and construction issues relating to the development of a hydro-electric station and fish pass. The project was a PPP arrangement and one of the first of its kind in the UK. |
Coal |
 | We have advised Celtic Energy, the successor to British Coal in Wales on opencast mining and in particular a major new landfill site (20 million cubic metres). |
