Press Release: Jeremy Williams Joins M&A
09 May 2009
Leading Welsh Lawyer Jeremy Williams has joined M&A Solicitors LLP as a partner in their construction, energy and projects team. Jeremy has extensive experience of advising clients on the procurement of complex high profile projects in the public and private sectors including advising the National Assembly for Wales on the construction contract relating to the Senedd Debating Chamber.
Jeremy lectures extensively on various topical issues including the procurement and finance of the proposed Severn Barrage. He also recently submitted a paper and gave oral evidence with Professor Brian Morgan to the Finance Committee at the National Assembly on Public Private Partnerships and their use in Wales.
Jeremy also brings to M&A his international expertise having worked for a leading law firm in Finland where he was involved in cross border corporate and commercial transactions including acting for Nokia, the global telecommunications company.
M&A's Managing Partner, Stephen Berry said, "We are delighted that Jeremy is joining the firm at an exciting time in our development. Jeremy's experience will further strengthen our reputation in construction, energy and projects work".
"M&A has recently been involved in a number of high profile projects such as the Bluestone Leisure project in Pembrokeshire and the development of the new Cardiff City Football Club stadium. We are also currently advising West Sussex County Council on the procurement of a 25-30 year £0.5 billion waste treatment and disposal project with a capital cost of circa £200 million. This scheme is one of the most innovative projects in procurement under the Public Private Partnership banner, incorporating a strategic mix of Prudential Funds and private sector funds which allows the public sector to accommodate "credit crunch" funding difficulties."
Jeremy Williams said, "M&A is the leading transactional law firm in Wales and I am looking forward to being part of the team and helping them achieve their growth plans by building on their notable successes over recent years".
